My resolution for 2020 is to make more time for my writing.
A lot has changed in my life in the last two years but as I am readjusting to my new normal I want to make sure I also prioritize writing. This year I want to challenge myself to write a minimum of 10,000 words a week. That amounts to 520,000 words a year. I know to some people that might sound scary (while to others it might sound like peanuts). I settled on this as a perfectly achievable goal because this huge number only amounts to about 1500 words a day. Now that sounds like a perfectly achievable number considering some days I write 5000 words. So I like that it gives me that breathing space if one day nothing gets done. I need to believe that I can always catch up. This year is not about pushing myself to write the most I have ever written (perhaps, I can try that next year). I simply want reintegrate writing back into my life without getting bogged down by the fact I no longer have the time I used to or that I used to be more productive etc. I plan on using this blog to keep myself accountable and to keep track of my progress. So cheers to the New Year! Happy writing.
