Writing Challenge Week One: 4,000 out of 10,000
*** The day is not over and I started my week out strong. I currently have 4,000 words under my belt. I have hopes I will hit my goal of 10,00 by the weekend. This week I am doing a lot of business planning and making plans for the future. It brought up a lot of points and improvements I want to make in my writing career. There are some things like taking classes to improve my Photoshop skills that I just have to commit to. These things will never get done if I just don't start. I also have started a project that though I am passionate about, I am not confident in. This is making me constantly want to stop and return to the familiar. Instead of looking at this as pushing my boundaries I like to see it as expanding them. I don't want to be stuck doing the same thing over and over again. So onward and upwards! Do you find it hard to try something new? If so, how did you overcome this?

My resolution for 2020 is to make more time for my writing.
A lot has changed in my life in the last two years but as I am readjusting to my new normal I want to make sure I also prioritize writing. This year I want to challenge myself to write a minimum of 10,000 words a week. That amounts to 520,000 words a year. I know to some people that might sound scary (while to others it might sound like peanuts). I settled on this as a perfectly achievable goal because this huge number only amounts to about 1500 words a day. Now that sounds like a perfectly achievable number considering some days I write 5000 words. So I like that it gives me that breathing space if one day nothing gets done. I need to believe that I can always catch up. This year is not about pushing myself to write the most I have ever written (perhaps, I can try that next year). I simply want reintegrate writing back into my life without getting bogged down by the fact I no longer have the time I used to or that I used to be more productive etc. I plan on using this blog to keep myself accountable and to keep track of my progress. So cheers to the New Year! Happy writing. The Lady's Ambition is now available for purchase on Amazon as both an eBook and paperback. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me get this book ready. I am also pleased to announce the release of my new cover for Joan - Book 1 of my Forgotten Women of History series. I have always wanted to update this cover but I felt I lacked the knowledge needed to create my vision. All it took was some buckling down but I have finally accomplished what I wanted. I will always be nitpicking but I am proud of my work.
It may have been a long time but I have not been idle.
